Biography
Dr.P.Jagadeeswara Rao is working as a Professor and Chairman, Board of Studies, Department of Geo-Engineering and Centre for Remote Sensing, College of Engineering (A), Andhra University. Prior to join as faculty, he served as Hydrogeologist, CGWB, Govt. of India. He was an international member in IGU Disaster Risk and advisory member in RS & GIS, Forest Department, and advisory board member in APSDMA, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh. He is a resource person to APHRDI and other state Govt. organizations, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh besides central institutions such as NIRD&PR, and IIRS. He is a focul point to M.Tech. programme being offered by IIRS, Dehradun. He obtained RS&GIS and Disaster Management courses affiliated to UNO. He has been trained in MDP (ALP) in IIM-Khozikhode. Visited USA, Japan, China, and he visited 650 years old University in Poland as part of his academic activity. Published research articles on HIV/AIDS and solid waste management. Guided 10 Ph.D and 120 M.Tech students. He published two books on Reservoir Sedimentation and Big data analytics. He is a consultant to private and Government organizations on water resources management, ore reserves estimation, remote sensing and GIS studies on various natural and cultural resources. He is a Chairman to ISRS, Visakhapatnam chapter and executive member of ISG-Visakhapatnam chapter as well.
